Every outfit should be flattering for your figure. In order for that to happen every item in your closet must be flattering! Sounds impossible? Well it can be accomplished in just a few easy steps:
- Clean out your closet! If you haven't worn it in 6 months...throw it out or give it away!
- Try on the items you decide to keep. If they do not look good or flattering...out they go!
- Consider the color. Clothes should compliment your complexion, not wash you out!
- Make sure it fits. Clothes that are too big or too tight do not flatter! Get rid of them!
- DON'T: Curvy girls tend to try to hide their curves by wearing over-sized clothing. That is a big No-No! Baggy clothes only make you look larger! Even if you're just "running to the store" you can do it with style!
- DO: Think about the fit of the pieces that you are wearing. If you are wearing leggings or a tight fitting skirt then your top should have a loose fit. And vice-versa. If you wear a tight fitting top then hopefully you have a flowing skirt or relaxed fitting jeans.
- DO: When choosing to wear a dress...show some legs! When we wear dresses that are too long they make us look short and round!
- DON'T: Beware of the pattern, print or design on the dress that you choose. Stay away from prints that are too small and choose bright colors.
- DO: Weather permitting, dress in layers! Adding a nice t-shirt, sweater or blazer to your outfit will add interest to what you're wearing as well as providing function!
- DO: Wear a belt! Yes! It's okay to tuck in your shirt! Add a belt on top of tops, sweaters or coats!
